Key Results

Viet Nam is the seventh most populous economy among the 21 participating economies and contributes 2.20% to the region's total real gross domestic product. Viet Nam's overall price level is 41% of that in Hong Kong, China, ranking 15th in the region.

Program Implementation

The General Statistics Office implemented the 2021 International Comparison Program. Participation helped enhance the capacity of price statisticians in Viet Nam to analyze, review, and compare data across groups and localities. New tools and methods introduced also improved the capacity to conduct price surveys in Viet Nam and laid the framework for estimating subnational purchasing power parities.
