Key Results

The Philippines is the tenth-largest economy in real terms in the region, contributing 1.85% of the region's total real gross domestic product. The economy ranks 15th in both per capita real and nominal gross domestic product. The Philippines ranks as the eighth most expensive economy in the region, with an overall price level of 52% of that in Hong Kong, China.

Program Implementation

The Philippine Statistics Authority led the 2021 International Comparison Program implementation. The participation provided the Price Statistics Division staff with a broader perspective on how price surveys can be utilized for a more comprehensive analysis of price differences among economies. The quarterly regional data validation indicates the performance of the Philippines, both in terms of the availability of commodities and price movements.
