Key Results

Pakistan is the fourth most populous economy among the 21 participating economies and ranks sixth in real gross domestic product with 2.60% of the region's real GDP. Pakistan ranks 19th in per capita real gross domestic product of 36,821 Hong Kong dollars. Pakistan has the second-lowest overall price level in the region: 35% of that in Hong Kong, China and 55% of the regional average.

Program Implementation

The Price Statistics Section of the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics led the implementation of the 2021 International Comparison Program. Participation in the regional workshops helped improve understanding of concepts, address data inconsistencies, facilitate knowledge sharing on the consumer price index mechanism, and enhance collaboration with other participating economies.
