Key Results

India is the second most populous economy in the region and ranks second in both nominal and real gross domestic product, contributing 11.68% and 20.25% to the region's respective total gross domestic product. India's overall price level is 37% of Hong Kong, China's and 58% of the regional average.

Program Implementation

The Price Statistics Division in the National Statistical Office of the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation oversaw the collection, validation, analysis, and coordination of International Comparison Program activities with various agencies. Considering the importance of the program and its endorsement as a permanent global statistical work, the goal is to ensure high quality, consistent, and timely data with simultaneous validation of price data in the future cycles.
