Key Results

Brunei Darussalam, the least populous among the 21 participating economies, ranks second in per capita real gross domestic product at 470,955 Hong Kong dollars, which is more than five times the region's per capita real gross domestic product. The overall price level in Brunei Darussalam is 52% of Hong Kong, China, making it the seventh most expensive economy in the region.

Program Implementation

The Department of Economic Planning and Statistics, Ministry of Finance and Economy, participated in the 2021 International Comparison Program (ICP) through the Department of Statistics. Efforts are underway to better align the consumer price index and ICP surveys, including item alignment, synchronized price collection, and incorporating ICP items into the CPI basket.
